Dorien is data manager Open Science, helping the BDRC in its transition towards open science and developing a vision for future open research practices. She helps researchers with, among others, preregistration, data management, open data, open access and open materials.
After completing an interdisciplinary bachelor in Liberal Arts and Sciences (major Cognitive and neurobiological psychology), Dorien completed a master’s in Neuroscience and Cognition at Utrecht University. During her master’s, she did two research projects and specialized in Science Education and Communication, developing an educational program for the University Museum Utrecht. Besides her job at the BDRC, Dorien is currently also involved in developing and implementing a personalized learning track for PhD students about designing an optimal animal experiment (Animal Welfare Body Utrecht and UMC Utrecht), thus also promoting good science practices in the field of animal research.
