Karlijn Hermans is a postdoctoral researcher involved in the Leiden Consortium on Individual Development (L-CID) at Leiden University and the Society Youth Neuroscience Connected (SYNC) lab at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is interested in social competence and development in youth. Karlijn currently works on the ‘Samen Uniek’ project for which data collection has recently been completed. Specifically, she focuses on the evaluation and valorization of the collected data on (social) individual development by using both traditional and citizen science methods. She aims to study how research findings can be optimally useful for societal stakeholders and how research can learn from society in asking better questions. Karlijn also works on different outreach projects in co-creation with teachers, parents and youth.
