Lysanne te Brinke

Lysanne te Brinke is a postdoctoral researcher in the SYNC-lab and is interested in prosocial and antisocial development. She currently works on the ERC consolidator project ‘Brainlinks’. Specifically, she is involved in the development of an intervention aimed at fostering prosocial development in adolescence during COVID-19 and beyond.

This intervention study tests a new theory on adolescent development which argues that changes in emotional reactivity pose opportunities for positive prosocial development, such as increases in sharing, helping and community commitment. The key question of this study concerns: When and how do changes in emotional reactivity in adolescence result in opportunities for prosocial development and which factors facilitate opportunities for positive, prosocial development?
